Additional Director General of Police, State Cyber Crime (with additional charge ADGP/ NRI Affairs)Punjab

An introduction:

Sh. Praveen K. Sinha, IPS is best described as an economist by education, a policeman by profession and a trainer by passion. He is a major in Economics from Delhi University& JNU, and joined Indian Police Service in 1994. He has served as SSP of districts – Ferozepur, Tarn Taran, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar andRoop Nagaralongwith holding other positions in the Intelligence, Crime and Technical Services Wings of the police. In last few years, he has served as Head of the Department in Punjab Prisons, Commissioner of Police Jalandhar,IGP (Cyber Crime), IGP (Intelligence). Previously,for 5 years, he served as a training faculty at the National Police Academy, Hyderabad, from 2009 to 2014 and was responsible for training over 600 young recruits to the Indian Police Service.

Mr. Sinha’s major areas of interest include police operations, cyber crimes and training. Studies in comparative policing systems is an area of his special interest. Reforming governance, particularly policing systems, and ushering use of technology in governance has been a lifelong passion and drive for him.
He has officially travelled to/visited, and studied the governance and policing systems of over twelve countries. This is in addition to a one-year stint as a peace-keeper in the UN Mission at Kosovo, erstwhile Yugoslavia.
He represented India as the head of delegation in the Asia-Pacific Conference of Correctional Administration at Ulan Bator, Mongolia in Sept. 2019.

Presently posted as Addl. Director General of Police, State Cyber Crime, Punjab (with additional charge ADGP, NRI Affairs)since Sept., 2022.

S. K. Asthana

Sh. S. K. Asthana is an IPS officer of 1993 batch. A B.Tech. (Electronics & Communications). Also, he is a Masters in Police Administration as well as an MBA. Before joining the prestigious Indian Police Service, he had been selected to work for IBM, USA and served as the Regional Manager, South-East Asia. He is also one of the first Network Certified Engineer from our country.

In 1993 he was allotted Punjab Cadre and has been serving in Punjab since 1995. He has been a Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of various districts in Punjab – Mansa, Moga,Barnala, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, and Patiala. On his promotion as Deputy Inspector General of Police, he held the important charge of Patiala range.

He has remained as Inspector General of Police in Vigilance and has also commanded the Vigilance & Security of PSPCL. Before joining the Headquarters at Chandigarh, he commanded as IGP, Bhatinda Zone. He is presently Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) in Punjab. He has an innate passion for mentoring and counselling parents and children about the career opportunities available to the children – in India and abroad.

Hon’ble Justice M.M.S. Bedi (Retd.)

Justice Bedi has retired as a Judge of the Hon’ble High Court of Punjab & Haryana. Born and raised in Chandigarh, he is a passionate educationist and has even taught in a renowned public school in Chandigarh. He is a Medical Graduate and Post Graduate (M.Sc) in Anthropology from Pb. University (1977) and thereafter obtained his Degree of Law from Punjab University in 1980. Justice Bedi has had a keen interest in sports, and extra-curricular activities both as a student as well as a teacher and was declared best athlete in his school. A University College Colour Holder in Stage activities, and has even been awarded the title of best dancer at All India level during his university days. He is fond of music, dance, painting and an avid golfer. He practiced law for 14 years from 1980 to 1994 and thereafter selected as Additional District Judge in Punjab in 1995 and was elevated to the High Court in 2006 from where he has retired in 2018. Post retirement, he has resumed his license of Bar for service of the poor in Supreme Court and is also pursuing a career as an Arbitrator.
